Against jihadist barbarism and aganist Turkish state repression

EMBAT, anarchist organization from Catalonia wants to send its fraternal greetings to the Kurdish Liberation Movement and the Turkish left in these dramatic and decisive moments that live both rebellious Turkish youth and the Kurdish people.

We roundly condemn the Turkish state for its tactical support to Islamic State that is leaving a trail of blood throughout the region. We have seen it this week in Suruç, a population next to Kobanê, where 32 young socialist in solidarity, including also some people with anarchist ideas, which were preparing the reconstruction of the before mentioned town, lost their lives because of a terrible attack, allegedly jihadist. However, the Turkish state has used the attack to begin a systematic campaign of repression against the popular protests which have culminated in a reopening of the internal war against the Kurdish Liberation Movement by bombing bases of the movement in Syria and Iraq. The Turkish state tries to avoid the consolidation of a democratic administration in Kurdistan controlled by its own people, while pretends before the “international community” to be truly confronting the jihad in Syria. We also remember that it’s just a year on the rescue operation of the Yezidi people who was carried out by the revolutionary Kurdish militias in Iraq, the same that are now being bombed. The result of all these facts is that the Kurdish liberation movement in Turkey has ended the truce.

As for Catalonia, we must continue to extend the wave of international solidarity for the Kurdish cause that is crossing Europe these days. We should support financial campaigns and other campaigns against the war denouncing barbarity promoted by Turkey and supported by the European Union and NATO. It is no coincidence neither the present media manipulation of these conflict nor the cynicism with which the West deals with the situation in Middle East talking about democracy while supporting the sponsors of jihad.

As for Embat we have it clear: the Kurdish people and the Turkish left are not alone.
